Alberta has conducted a new Express Entry draw.

Managed under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), the Alberta Express Entry Stream selects candidates from the Express Entry pool and invites them to apply for a nomination for permanent residence.

The Alberta Express Entry latest draw held on June 18, 2024, saw invitations being issued to 73 candidates under the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway. Invited candidates required a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 301 to be eligible.

If you have been invited in this draw, you must send a copy of your invitation letter - along with the requested information to the AAIP within 2 weeks of receiving the invitation.

In 2024, Alberta Express Entry draws will invite candidates from in-demand sectors including:

  • Family connection and primary occupation in demand
  • Dedicated Health Care Pathway
  • Accelerated Tech Pathway
  • Priority sectors - Agriculture, Construction, Tourism and Hospitality

Alberta’s Dedicated Healthcare Pathway

You may be eligible to immigrate to Alberta under the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway if:

  • Your primary occupation is in an eligible National Occupation Classification (NOC) code.
  • You have a valid job offer from an employer in Alberta in the healthcare sector.
  • You can provide verifiable proof of meeting the minimal requirements prescribed by the applicable regulatory organisation.

Eligible Healthcare Professions

  • Physicians
  • Registered Nurses (RNs)
  • Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)
  • Nurse Practitioners (NPs)
  • Physician Assistants
  • Occupational Therapist
  • Physiotherapist
  • Clinical Social Worker
  • Psychologist

The Alberta Express Entry Stream operates on an invitation-only basis. To apply for this stream, you must meet the AAIP and Express Entry Program eligibility requirements. If eligible, you will be issued a Notification of Interest (NOI) from the province of Alberta.

Once you have an NOI, you must prepare and submit an official application to apply for Canada PR within the designated timeframe. Applications for permanent residence submitted through Express Entry are generally processed within 6 months.
