AAIP is designed to nominate individuals for permanent residence in Alberta, focusing on those who can fill local in-demand jobs or plan to establish or invest in a business in the province. Applicants must also demonstrate the ability to support their families. This program is managed by the governments of Alberta and Canada.
If you are nominated under this program, you can apply for Canada PR for yourself, your spouse or common-law partner, and any dependent children. The final decisions regarding permanent residence applications are made by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, which also oversees the application process.
Currently, 80% of applications under the AAIP are being processed within 8 to 10 months.
