The Alberta Advantage Immigrant Program (AAIP), conducted a total of five back-to-back Express Entry draws in the month of April. April was a historic month for Alberta Express Entry draw candidates.

AAIP frequently searches IRCC’s Express Entry pool to find candidates that meet the criteria of one of Alberta PNP streams. The total number of Notification of Interest (NOI) letters issued in the April invitation rounds added up to 405 - with the CRS score going as low as 301.

Who was invited?

April 5, 2023

• Number of NOIs issued: 53.
• Requirement: Designated Healthcare Pathway, Alberta job offer, and CRS score ranging from 300-600.requirement: Designated Healthcare Pathway, Alberta job offer, and CRS score ranging from 300-600.
• CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate: 351.

April 18, 2023

• Number of NOIs issued: 68.
• Requirement: Sector priority - Agriculture occupation, Alberta job offer, and CRS score ranging from 300-700.
• CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate: 307.

April 20, 2023

• Number of NOIs issued: 152.
• Requirement: Family connection, primary occupation in demand, and CRS score ranging from 300-500.
• CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate: 302.

April 24, 2023

• Number of NOIs issued: 124.
• Requirement: Priority sector - construction occupation with Alberta job offer, CRS score 300-500.
• CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate: 301.

April 25, 2023

• Number of NOIs issued: 8.
• Requirement: Designated Healthcare Pathway, Alberta job offer, CRS score 300 and above.
• CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate: 316.

If you have received an NOI letter from Alberta, you must now send a copy of the letter – along with additional information to the Alberta Advantage Immigrant Program (AAIP) by email within 2 weeks of receiving the letter.

Alberta Express Entry draws in 2023

The following requirements will apply to Alberta Express Entry draws scheduled to be conducted in 2023:

• 25% of the nominations will be allocated to candidates whose profession is mentioned on the Alberta Occupation In-demand List - and has a family connection in Alberta.
• 50% of the nominations will be allocated to candidates whose primary occupation is in the healthcare, construction, agriculture, hospitality, and tourism sectors.
• 25% of the nominations will be allocated to candidates under Alberta’s Accelerated Tech Pathway.

The size & frequency of the Notification of Interest (NOI) draw is determined by the AAIP’s application backlog at that time. AAIP draws are usually held on a bi-weekly basis – with some exceptions. The dates of the next Alberta PNP draw are not posted before they take place. Information on draws conducted is typically posted approximately one month after the date of the draw.
