Alberta Advantage Immigrant Program (AAIP) conducted back-to-back Notification of Interest (NOI) draws in the month of January 2023. A total of 200 candidates from the Alberta Express Entry Stream were issued invitations in bi-weekly AAIP draws held on the 19th and 23rd of January 2023.

The Alberta Advantage Immigrant Program frequently searches IRCC’s Express Entry pool to find candidates that meet the criteria of one of Alberta’s streams. Based on the profile information available in the portal, potential candidates are selected from the pool – and issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to submit a complete application to the AAIP in a subsequent draw.

Here’s who was invited to the latest Alberta draws:

January 19, 2023

  • Number of NOI letters sent: 46
  • CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate: 324

January 23, 2023

  • Number of NOI letters sent: 154
  • CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate: 385

The size and frequency of the Notification of Interest (NOI) draws are determined by the AAIP’s application backlog at that time. AAIP draws are usually held on a monthly basis – with some exceptions. The dates of the selections will not be posted before they take place. Information on draws conducted is typically posted approximately one month after the date of the draw.

Who was eligible?

Candidates in the Express Entry pool were selected and issued NOI letters if:

  • They had an active Express Entry profile in the federal Express Entry pool.
  • The primary occupation in their federal Express Entry profile was an occupation that supports Alberta’s economic development and diversification.
  • They had stated an interest in immigrating permanently to Alberta.
  • They had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score of 300 or above.

If you have been invited.

If you have received an NOI letter from Alberta, you must now send a copy of the letter – along with additional information to the Alberta Advantage Immigrant Program (AAIP) by email within 2 weeks of receiving the letter.
