The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) has conducted a new draw. This was the third invitation round conducted by the province in May.

The BC PNP latest draw was held on May 14, 2024. A total of 87 invitations were issued to Skilled Workers, International Graduates, and Entrepreneurs with a minimum score of 80.

BC PNP Skills Immigration category

The BC PNP Skills Immigration category is tailored to attract skilled immigrants with experience and skill in high-demand professions listed in the BC PNP Occupations in Demand List. Targeted invitations to apply to the Skills Immigration streams may be based on one or more of the following factors:

  • Education - level and field of education and where it was completed
  • Eligible professional designations in B.C.
  • Language skills
  • Occupation
  • Duration and skill level of work experience
  • Wage and/or skill level of job offer
  • Intent to live, work and settle in a specific region
  • Strategic priorities - factors that address specific labour market needs in B.C. or support government pilot projects and initiatives

Candidates with the highest scores in BC’s points grid, BC PNP points calculator, are sent invitations to apply as they are more likely to meet BC’s labour market needs. The draw type, stream, minimum score, and number of invitations are not published beforehand.

BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration Category

Invitations issued under the EI Regional Pilot stream are held on a monthly basis for qualified entrepreneurs who have been referred by a participating community.

Targeted invitations to apply to the EI Base stream may be based on one or more of the following factors:

  • The qualified candidate’s registration score
  • The specific region in which a candidate proposes to establish a business
  • The population size of the community in which the candidate proposes to establish a business
  • Whether the proposed business is a start-up or a purchase of an existing business
  • Whether the business proposal is aligned with identified priority business sectors
