British Columbia has conducted its first Skills Immigration draw of 2025 under the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP), inviting 94 candidates to apply for permanent residence (PR). This latest draw reflects the province's renewed focus on high-impact workers and comes amid newly imposed application limits for the year.

BC PNP Latest Draw - Results

The Latest BC PNP Draw was held on May 8, 2025. A total of 94 invitations were issued under the skilled immigration stream.

A total of 94 invitations were issued based on two specific criteria:

  • 47 candidates were invited who:
    • Are currently working full-time in British Columbia,
    • Have a minimum wage of $105/hour,
    • Hold a job offer under NOC TEER 0 or 1.
  • Another 47 candidates were invited based on a minimum SIRS score of 150 points.

Only candidates with qualified registrations submitted before the draw date were considered.

Importantly, invitations were only sent to candidates who had submitted qualified registrations before the draw date. Those who receive an invitation now have 30 days to submit a complete application for permanent residency to the BC PNP. Missing this deadline means the invitation becomes invalid.

2025 Brings Big Changes to the BC PNP

British Columbia is implementing major changes in response to a shrinking federal nomination allocation and an increasing application backlog.

  • New Cap: Only 1,100 new BC PNP applications will be accepted in 2025 — a sharp decrease from previous years.
  • Priority Focus: Most nominations are now being reserved for healthcare professionals in critical occupations.
  • Backlog Management: With over 5,200 pending applications, BC has suspended some program streams to focus on clearing the backlog.

These adjustments stem from BC’s reduced federal allocation of just 4,000 total nominations for the year.

Immigrate to British Columbia in 2025?

British Columbia PNP continues to be a top destination for immigrants, offering:

  • Strong job markets in technology, healthcare, and engineering,
  • A welcoming multicultural society,
  • Access to top-tier education, healthcare, and natural beauty.

Cities like Vancouver and Victoria offer world-class infrastructure and settlement support for newcomers. The BC PNP remains a key pathway to Canadian permanent residency, particularly for skilled professionals looking to settle in one of Canada’s most vibrant provinces.

Currently, 80% of British Columbia PNP applications are processed within 8–10 months, making it one of the more efficient immigration streams in Canada.
