Immigrating to BC in 2024

In 2023, British Columbia invited over 10,000 candidates across Skills Immigration and Entrepreneur Immigration draws. The province conducted 4-5 draws every month - and the same trend is expected to be followed in 2024 as well.

The BC PNP has two main categories:

Skilled Immigration: Skilled Worker, Health Authority, Entry Level and Semi-Skilled (ELSS), International Graduate, and International Post-Graduate.

Entrepreneur Immigration: Base stream and Regional Pilot.

Targeted invitations to apply to the Skills Immigration streams may be based on one or more of the following factors:

  • Education - level and field of education and where it was completed
  • Eligible professional designations in B.C.
  • Language skills
  • Occupation
  • Duration and skill level of work experience
  • Wage and/or skill level of job offer
  • Intent to live, work and settle in a specific region

Strategic priorities - factors that address specific labour market needs in B.C. or support government pilot projects and initiatives

Invitations are based on the information candidates provide in their registrations. Candidates with the highest scores in BC’s points grid, aka BC PNP points calculator - and issued an invitation to apply for Canada PR. The draw type, stream, minimum score, and number of invitations are not published beforehand.

If you are nominated under any of the two components, you and your family can apply for Canada PR visa to the IRCC. Currently, 80% of applications under the BC PNP are processed within 12-15 months.
