British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) conducted its new Skills Immigration draw for Skilled Workers and International Graduates.

The latest BC PNP draw was held on July 05, 2023 - and issued a total of 137 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to eligible candidates present in the BC PNP pool. The minimum score required to be eligible for an ITA ranged between 60 and 90.

This was the first Skills Immigration draw conducted by British Columbia in July.

Who was invited?

Category 1: Targeted Draw: Tech

  • Total number of invitations: 97
  • Streams invited: Skilled Workers & International Graduates (including EEBC option)
  • Minimum score: 90

Category 2: Targeted Draw (Childcare: Early childhood educators and assistants (NOC 42202))

  • Total number of invitations: 23
  • Streams invited: Skilled Workers and International Graduates (including EEBC option)
  • Minimum score: 60

Category 3: Targeted Draw (Healthcare)

  • Total number of invitations: 17
  • Streams invited: Skilled Workers and International Graduates (including EEBC option)
  • Minimum score: 60

BC PNP issues ITAs to eligible candidates on a weekly basis, with some exceptions. The frequency, size, and date of the next BC PNP draw - are determined by the needs of the BC PNP application inventory.

British Columbia PNP: Skills Immigration Stream

British Columbia Skills Immigration is part of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP), which allows workers and international graduates with the necessary skills and qualifications to contribute to the economy of British Columbia, Canada, to be nominated for permanent residence.

  • BC Skilled Worker: This stream is for immigrants who have a job offer from a BC employer in a skilled occupation. Candidates are assigned points based on the BC Skills Immigration Ranking System, and those with the highest rankings are invited to apply for the PNP.
  • BC Healthcare Professional: This stream targets immigrants with job offers from BC health authorities in eligible healthcare occupations. Applicants who meet the program requirements can submit their application at any time.
  • BC International Graduate: This stream is for recent graduates from Canadian post-secondary institutions who have a job offer from a BC employer in a skilled position. Points are assigned based on the BC Skills Immigration Ranking System, and only those with the most competitive rankings can apply to the PNP.
  • BC International Post-Graduate: This stream is for recent graduates who have obtained a Master's or Doctoral degree from an eligible institution in British Columbia. Only specific schools and programs qualify for this pathway. If applicants meet the program requirements, they can submit their application at any time.
  • BC Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled: This stream is designed for individuals with nine months of work experience in a low-skilled occupation in BC and a job offer from a BC employer. Eligibility criteria include having work experience in specific occupations or regions of the province. Points are assigned based on the BC Skills Immigration Ranking System, and only those with the most competitive rankings can apply to the PNP. Candidates eligible for this stream cannot apply through Express Entry.

The British Columbia Skills Immigration Ranking system uses the following point grid called the BC PNP points calculator to rank candidates who have registered profiles. Only those candidates with the most competitive scores will be invited to apply to the program.
