BC PNP Selection Criteria

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) issues invitations to candidates across all BC PNP streams. Every week, the province invites those who are in the registration pool to apply to the program. The invitations issued are based on the info candidates provide during registration.

Targeted invitations to apply to the BC PNP streams in 2024 may be based on factors such as:

  • Education - level and field of education and where it was completed
  • Eligible professional designations in B.C.
  • Language skills
  • Occupation
  • Duration and skill level of work experience
  • Wage and/or skill level of job offer
  • Intent to live, work and settle in a specific region
  • Strategic priorities - factors that address specific labour market needs in B.C. or support government pilot projects and initiatives

BC uses the information provided in the registration to rank and invite candidates who are most likely to fulfil the labour market needs.

80% of applications under BC PNP are processed within 8-10 months.
