Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted its latest Express Entry draw, issuing 500 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) stream.

This marks the fourth CEC-specific draw of the year and follows closely after a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw held just a day earlier, which invited 511 candidates.

Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

The Canadian Experience Class is one of the three streams under the Express Entry program and is specifically designed for individuals who already have work experience in Canada—such as temporary foreign workers or international graduates.

CEC Eligibility Criteria:

  • At least 1 year of full-time (or equivalent part-time) skilled work experience in Canada within the last 3 years
  • Work experience must fall under TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 of the NOC system
  • Meet minimum language proficiency requirements in English or French
  • No proof of settlement funds required

One of the key advantages of the CEC stream is its faster processing time, typically between 6 to 8 months. Because CEC applicants already have Canadian experience, they also receive additional CRS points, improving their chances of receiving an ITA.

Why This Matters

CEC draws are a vital part of Canada’s strategy to retain skilled talent already working in the country. With a focus on integration and economic contribution, the government continues to prioritize candidates with Canadian experience.

If you meet the criteria, now is the time to create an Express Entry profile and join the pool of candidates.
