The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has conducted a new draw. This was the second invitation round conducted by the province in April. The previous invitation round was held on April 03, 2025.

Manitoba conducts regular draws under its Expression of Interest (EOI) system to invite candidates from the EOI pool to submit a complete application to the MPNP. If you have been invited to this latest Manitoba PNP draw, you will have 60 days to submit a full application for permanent residence (PR) to the MPNP. If this timeframe passes, your invitation or Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) will no longer be valid.

Latest Manitoba PNP Draw - Results

The latest Manitoba PNP draw was held on April 17, 2025. A total of 27 invitations were issued to candidates under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream.

To be eligible, you must show a strong connection to Manitoba. This can be through:

  • A close family member or friend who lives in Manitoba and supports your move
  • Past education or work experience in Manitoba
  • An invitation to apply directly from Manitoba through a recruitment event

You also need to meet these basic requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old

  • Score at least 60 points on the Manitoba points grid (based on age, work experience, education, language skills, and connection to Manitoba)
  • Show enough English or French language skills (usually CLB 5 or higher)
  • Prove you have enough money to settle in Manitoba

Managed under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), the Skilled Worker Overseas stream helps people living outside Canada move to Manitoba for work and a better life.

Special Work Permits For Manitoba PNP Candidates

Starting April 22, 2025, eligible Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) candidates can apply for a special Manitoba-specific work permit valid for up to two years, to help them maintain their legal status in Canada.

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Have a work permit expiring within 45 days or already expired in 2024/2025.
  • Be residing in Manitoba continuously since before January 15, 2025.
  • Have had a valid MPNP Expression of Interest profile on January 15, 2025.
  • Hold a valid employment letter from a current Manitoba employer.

The MPNP will begin to accept applications for these work permits starting April 22, 2025. If the MPNP candidate qualifies, they can apply on to the MPNP for a Support Letter, which they will use for their Canada Work Permit application to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Those who have already received an invitation or Letter of Advice to Apply under MPNP are not eligible for this special work permit. These permits are part of a temporary federal public policy (effective until December 31, 2025) aimed at preventing status loss among PNP candidates waiting for permanent residence.

Federal Requirements

Candidates must also meet additional program criteria established by the federal government, such as:

  • Holding a valid work permit.
  • You held a work permit on May 7, 2024, which has since expired, and you have either applied for an extension or restoration of your status, or
  • You had maintained status as of May 7, 2024, and applied to extend your work permit before that date, which is either still in process or has already been approved.

To be eligible to apply, you must submit your Expression of Interest profile and an employment letter. Additionally, provide one of the following: your current work permit, proof of work authorisation, or evidence of a valid work permit as of May 7, 2024, with a restoration application. Incomplete applications may be rejected.
