Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) has conducted a new draw on October 19, 2023. This was the second Expression of Interest (EOI) draw conducted by PEI PNP in October. 

The PEI EOI system gathers important information about candidates in the pool in order to rank and select those who are most likely to meet Prince Edward Island’s economic and labour market needs, based on one or more of the following attributes:

• Language: English or French
• Education: level and field of education and where completed
• Skill and work experience level
• Strategic priorities: attributes that would address immediate labor market needs in PEI
• Other factors relevant to employment prospects: including, but not limited to having a job offer in PEI and/or previous Canadian work experience

Latest PEI PNP Draw: Highlights

The latest PEI PNP draw held on October 19, 2023, issued a total of 104 invitations to Labour & Express Entry and Business Work Permit Entrepreneur candidates.

• Labour and Express Entry: 102* Invitations with a minimum score of 55.
• Business and Work Permit Entrepreneur: 2 Invitations with a minimum score of 80. 

Critical Worker & Express Entry invitations in the latest PEI PNP draw were issued to individuals working for a PEI Employer with a minimum EOI score of 55. Skilled Workers with at least two years of relevant experience in Semi-Skilled and Unskilled occupations may be eligible to apply for the Critical Worker Stream of the PEI PNP.

Over the last 12 months, the Prince Edward Island PNP has issued a total of 2,464 invitations to Labour & Express Entry candidates and 69 invitations to Business Work Permit Entrepreneur candidates.

• Labor & Express Entry invitations over the last 12 months: 97%
• Business Work Permit Entrepreneur invitations over the last 12 months: 3%

PEI’s Critical Worker Stream: Eligibility & Requirements

The PEI PNP Critical Worker stream is a potential Canadian immigration option for workers with a job offer in PEI in an in demand occupation in Canada categorized into Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibilities (TEER) 4 or 5. To be eligible to receive an invitation, you would need to meet the following requirements:

PEI PNP invites candidates through an Expression of Interest (EOI) system. This means that interested candidates must first create an EOI profile with the PEI PNP. The EOI profile includes personal information, education, work experience, language proficiency, and other relevant details.

Once a candidate has submitted their EOI profile, they will be assigned a score based on the information provided. The highest-scoring candidates will receive an invitation to apply (ITA) for a provincial nomination.

PEI PNP's Critical Worker Stream offers a direct route to apply for Canada PR for certain workers who may not be eligible to pursue immigration through the Express Entry system.
