Manitoba invites 254 candidates in its latest PNP draw

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) regularly conducts draws under its Expression of Interest (EOI) system, to select and invite candidates to apply for permanent residency. This was the third MPNP draw conducted in December.

The previous invitation round was held on December 21, 2023.

The latest Manitoba PNP draw held on December 28, 2023, saw invitations being issued to 254 candidates under three MPNP streams - Skilled Worker in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and Skilled Worker Overseas. Of the 254 invitations issued in this draw, 53 were issued to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.

Profiles that declared being directly invited by the MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

This was only the second time, Manitoba conducted an EOI draw where Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream saw invitations being issued under the “Close Relative in Manitoba Selection” category. The previous such draw was held on November 30, 2023.

Close Relative in Manitoba Selection

To apply under the Close Relative in Manitoba Selection category, both the applicants and the supporters must provide supporting documents proving their family relationship. To be considered as a close relative, the supporter in Manitoba must be related to the applicant as their: 

• Sister or Brother
• Niece or Nephew 
• Aunt or Uncle 
• First Cousin
• Mother or Father
• Grandmother or Grandfather

Applicants with a supporter in Manitoba must declare that person and their contact information for correspondence with the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) so that your supporter is authorized to discuss your application. The MPNP requires up-to-date contact information for your Manitoba Supporter.

The Manitoba PNP's latest draw is a continuation of the province issuing high invites with low scores. The back-to-back draws being conducted indicate that Manitoba seeks to increase the number of candidates eligible to receive a provincial nomination under its streams.

Including the December 28 draw, Manitoba invited a total of 15,805 candidates across 30 draws in 2023.

Your profile is then entered into a pool of all eligible candidates. The MPNP then invites the highest-scoring candidates in the pool to submit a full application to the MPNP regularly under its EOI draws.

Next Manitoba PNP Draw

MPNP draws are usually held every week - with some exceptions. The next MPNP draw is expected to be conducted on January 11, 2024. The size & frequency of the Manitoba PNP draws in 2024 will be determined by the MPNP’s application backlog at the time of the invitation round.
