Manitoba issues 526 LAAs to Skilled Workers and Graduates!

On May 18, 2023, Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted a new draw under its Expression of Interest (EOI) system. A total of 526 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued to candidates in the EOI pool.

This latest Manitoba PNP draw invited candidates from all of the three MPNP streams i.e., Skilled Workers in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and Skilled Worker Overseas.

Skilled Worker in Manitoba

Occupation-specific selection

Profiles declaring current employment in Manitoba, in occupations identified with high labor needs were considered.

• Number of LAAs issued: 287
• Ranking of the lowest-ranked candidate invited: 610

The occupations under the following National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021 major groups were considered in this draw:

• 7330 - Transport and Transit Drivers

All occupations

All profiles that were not selected in the occupation-specific selection were considered.

• Number of LAAs issued: 191.
• Ranking of the lowest-ranked candidate invited: 701.

International Education Stream

Profiles that declared meeting International Education Stream eligibility requirements.

• Number of LAAs issued: 21.

Skilled Worker Overseas

Profiles that declared being directly invited by the MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

• Number of LAAs issued: 27.
• Ranking of the lowest-ranked candidate invited: 721.

Of the 526 LAAs issued in this draw, 225 were issued to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.

Latest Manitoba PNP Draw: Key Takeaways

• Expression of Interest (EOI) candidates from the Skilled Worker Overseas stream were only considered if they were directly invited by Manitoba’s provincial government under a Strategic Recruitment initiative or, had an IRCC Express Entry ID and Job Seeker validation code.
• Candidates whose Express Entry profile was valid at the time of application assessment - were only eligible to receive a nomination under the MPNP.
• Candidates that have surpassed the minimum score requirement, but are yet to receive an LAA, maybe because -

- They have indicated that they have taken an authorized language proficiency test in English/French - but have not provided a valid “Test Number” or

- They have indicated that they have received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) under a Strategic Initiative - but did not provide a valid “Invitation Number”.

• Also, candidates that have been invited to this draw were working under a regulated in-demand occupation in Manitoba and are fully licensed to work in the province.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issues ITAs to eligible candidates on a monthly basis, with some exceptions. The frequency, size, and date of the next Manitoba PNP draw - are determined by the needs of the MPNP application inventory.
