Newfoundland and Labrador issues 320 invitations through new EOI system

In its most recent 2025 draw, Newfoundland and Labrador sent out 320 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) on behalf of the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) and the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) for permanent residence in Canada. The draw, which was the province's fourth invitation round of the year, was held on June 24, 2025.

NLPNP Issues New Invitations in Latest Provincial Draw

This latest draw highlights the province’s efforts to address major gaps in the labour market and demographic challenges. Of the 320 invitations issued, 257 were through the AIP and 63 under the NLPNP in Newfoundland and Labrador’s latest immigration draw.

The draw maintains the focus on attracting foreign nationals to full-time job offers, particularly individuals in the rural or under-served regions of Newfoundland and Labrador.

June 24 Draw Focus Areas

Candidates invited in this round were also mostly those who had received employment offers in high-demand fields that, with the main objective of economic empowerment and population growth of the province. The draw emphasized:

• Attracting skilled employees with valid job offers
• Supporting Rural and remote community employment
• Empowering the long-term labour force in the province

About Newfoundland and Labrador PNP

The Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) is an opportunity to settle permanently in the province using immigration as a skilled worker, international graduate, or entrepreneur. The program helps employers meet long-term labour shortages and keep talent in the most vital branches of the economy.

Two successful initiatives for Newfoundland and Labrador's economic and demographic development are the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) and the NLPNP.

New Expression of Interest (EOI) Model

By February 19, 2025, the province had introduced a revamped Expression of Interest (EOI) model to all economic immigration applications. Significant features include:

• Every applicant needs to use the Immigration Accelerator platform to submit their EOI.

• Employers in Newfoundland and Labrador are obliged to provide an invite code to foreign candidates.

• Applicants holding a valid temporary status in Canada do not need invite code.

• The EOIs can be proposed to any candidate during the 12-month period when they are valid.

• Applicants have 60 days to complete their application after receiving an ITA.

• ITA is not a guarantee of nomination-it only means that the applicants meet all the eligibility standards.

Pathway to Canadian PR

Nominated candidates under the NLPNP or AIP are eligible to have their permanent residence (PR) status in Canada which is the right to live and work permanently in Newfoundland and Labrador with their families.
