Ontario PNP conducts another HCP stream draw!

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has conducted its second draw of the week. The day before yesterday, OINP invited 2,086 candidates from the Express Entry pool, to submit an online application for permanent residency.

The Ontario latest draw held on February 08, 2024, saw invitations being issued to 2,118 candidates under the Human Capital Priorities (HCP) stream. Candidates with work experience in Tech occupations were targeted in this draw.

OINP’s HCP stream is aligned with the federal Express Entry System Candidates must have an active Express Entry profile to be eligible for an invitation under this stream.

NOC 21232 - Software developers and programmers
NOC 21233 - Web designers
NOC 21234 - Web developers and programmers
NOC 21311 - Computer engineers (except software engineers and designers)
NOC 22220 - Computer network technicians
NOC 22221 - User support technicians
NOC 22222 - Information systems testing technicians

If you’ve been invited

You may apply under this OINP HCP stream if you’ve received an invitation on February 08, 2024. If Ontario identifies you from the federal Express Entry pool, you will be invited to apply in your Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) online account.

To apply:

• Review the OINP HCP stream page and check if you meet the eligibility criteria.
• Review the document checklist to make sure you have the mandatory supporting documents.
• Visit the OINP’s e-Filing Portal, sign up (or login), and follow the steps to submit your application.

You must submit your application within 45 days of receiving the invitation.

OINP’s Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream

In 2023, Ontario conducted 14 HCP stream draws, which invited a total of 17,502 candidates. This was the second HCP stream draw conducted in 2024. 

Managed under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), the Human Capital Priorities (HCP) stream is established to attract highly skilled and experienced immigrants, who can support and sustain the province’s labour market needs.

Since the OINP’s HCP stream is aligned with the federal Express Entry System, candidates must have an active Express Entry profile. Apart from the OINP requirements, candidates must also meet the eligibility criteria of one of the three Express Entry streams: Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

Profiles are ranked based on factors including Age, Education Level, Work Experience, Job Offer, and more. Applications under the OINP HCP stream are processed within 10-12 months.
