How does the BC PNP work?

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) is an immigration pathway that allows the province of British Columbia in Canada to nominate individuals who possess the skills and qualifications needed to contribute to the province's economy. The BC PNP has several streams through which individuals can apply for nomination.

Applicants must first meet the eligibility criteria of the specific stream they are applying under. These streams include the Skills Immigration stream, the Entrepreneur Immigration stream, and the Express Entry BC stream. Each stream has its own requirements and target occupations.

Once an applicant is nominated by the BC PNP, they can then apply for Canada PR in the federal government of Canada through the Provincial Nominee Program. The BC PNP nomination adds 600 points to an applicant's Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score if they are applying through the Express Entry system, significantly increasing their chances of receiving an invitation to apply for permanent residence.

It's important to note that the BC PNP has specific intake periods, and the eligibility criteria and application process can change over time, so it's crucial to stay updated with the latest information.
