Third Ontario PNP draw of the week invites 2,434 candidates

Ontario has conducted its third invitation round of the week.

Earlier this week, Ontario invited 4,204 candidates across two Human Capital Priorities (HCP) stream draws. Managed under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (Ontario PNP), the HCP stream selects candidates from the federal Express Entry pool and invites them for permanent residency.

The latest Ontario PNP draw held on February 08, 2024, saw invitations being issued to 2,434 candidates under the Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream. Candidates with work experience in in-demand occupations in Ontario including Tech and Health occupations - were targeted in this draw.

If you have been selected in this draw, you will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in your OINP e-Filing Portal account. Once you receive an ITA, you will have 14 days to submit a complete application to apply for Canada PR to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program.

Ontario Occupation In-demand List 2024

Unlike the Express Entry linked streams, the Ontario PNP uses an Expression of Interest (EOI) system to select candidates who may meet the eligibility criteria of one of the following immigration streams:

• Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream
• Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream
• Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream
• Masters Graduate Stream
• PhD Graduate Stream
• Entrepreneur Stream

So far in 2024, Ontario has invited 14,760 candidates under both the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program and federal Express Entry linked streams. In 2023, Ontario invited 43,270 candidates - which was the highest number of invitations issued by a single province. Almost half of new immigrants in Canada were either living or intended to live in Ontario.

The trend of issuing high invites with low scores is expected to be carried out in 2024 as well. The chance of getting selected for a provincial nomination will entirely depend on how well a candidate scores in the Ontario PNP points calculator.

Ontario PNP draws are held every week - with some exceptions.
