Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted its third Express Entry draw of the week. Just yesterday, the department invited 3,200 candidates under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). The day before, 763 candidates across a PNP-specific draw were invited to apply for permanent residency (PR).

Express Entry Latest Draw - Results

The Express Entry latest draw was held on August 15, 2024. A total of 2,000 invitations were issued across a category-based selection draw for French Language Proficiency candidates. Invited candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 394 to be eligible.

Draw No: #310
Type of draw: French Language Proficiency

  • Number of invitations issued: 2,000
  • Rank required to be invited to apply: 2,000 or above
  • Date and time of round: August 15, 2024, at 2024-08-15 15:11:54 UTC
  • CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 394
  • Tie-breaking rule: July 07, 2024, at 09:46:10 UTC

If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the CRS score cut-off will be based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.

If you did not get invited

If you were not invited, your profile will remain active in the Express Entry pool for 12 months from the date of submission. Do not withdraw your application, you may receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next Express Entry draw.

Usually, IRCC conducts draws under the Express Entry Program every two weeks - typically on a Wednesday. However, Express Entry draws have followed an unusual pattern throughout 2024. For instance, last month IRCC conducted nine draws that invited a total of 25,125 candidates. This has made it difficult to predict exactly when the next draw will occur.

French Language Proficiency Eligibility

To be eligible under the French-Language Proficiency category, you must:

  • Have French-language test results that show a minimum score of 7 in all 4 language abilities on the Niveaux De Compétence Linguistique Canadiens.
  • Meet all of the requirements in the instructions for that invitation round.

As compared to the other five Express Entry selection categories, French-Language Proficiency is the only one that does not consider work experience as the key attribute to be issued an ITA.

On May 31, Sean Fraser announced that IRCC has finalized six new selection categories for Express Entry draws. Besides French-Language Proficiency, Healthcare Occupations, STEM Occupations, Trades Occupations, Transport Occupations, and Agriculture & Agri-Food Occupations are among the categories that will be considered for Express Entry draws.

Express Entry Draws in 2024

This was the 14th category-based Express Entry draw conducted by IRCC in 2024. Overall, 31 Express Entry draws have been conducted. Currently, IRCC is conducting three types of draws under the Express Entry Program:

  • General Express Entry draws
  • Program-specific Express Entry draws
  • Category-based Express Entry draws

Your chances of receiving an invitation to the upcoming Express Entry draws will entirely depend on your CRS score. The higher your score, the more your chances of gaining Canadian permanent residency.
